Terrence O. Tormey - Managing Director
Terry Tormey is the immediate past President and COO of Nelson Professional Sales (now known as Publicis Selling Solutions). He started his career in pharmaceutical sales in 1976 with Johnson & Johnson's Ortho Pharmaceuticals Division. Terry was promoted to District Sales Manager, and later, Professional Sales Staff Director at McNeil Consumer Products Company. He later joined the American Home Products team that launched Advil® in the U.S.
During his career he has held virtually every sales, sales training, and sales management position up to, and including, Vice President of Sales on the client side of the business. As co-owner and President of The Medical Phone Company® (TMPC) the firm grew to be the largest healthcare telesales company in the United Sates. In 1999 Nelson Communications acquired TMPC, where Tormey continued serving as its President. In January 2001 Terry assumed the responsibilities of President and COO of Nelson Professional Sales.
Terry holds a BS Degree in Biology and Chemistry from St. Vincent College, Latrobe, PA. Additional course work in business and management at University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) and Georgetown University. Terry has authored numerous articles on Sales and Sales Management and is a frequent guest lecturer at Philadelphia area universities and for the Healthcare Marketing & Communications Council.
